What's good Wavediggerz family. Just wanted to put you on to some good sources for free samples. Its probably our most asked question, 'Where can I get sounds for free?' or 'where can i get free royalty free sounds?'. Just for the record we're not talking downloads or cracked software here, we are talking 100% free bonafide original samples. So here goes.
1. SampleRadar
The hub page for MusicRadar's regular giveaway of pro-quality, royalty-free samples. You can find a lot of really usable stuff here. Have a dig thru and let us know what you find. We were particularly pleased with their atmospheric samples, dystopian drones, lo-fi drums and some of the retro video game samples were a lot of fun to play around with. Definitely something here for everyone. Check it out link.
2. Samplephonics
Next up we have a strong collection of free royalty free samples from Samplephonics. They have snippets of their full version loop and sound packs meaning you can get your hands on some sounds, samples, presets & instruments in lots of different styles. All available to download 100% royalty free for use in your music production or sound design projects. Check it out link.
3. Philharmonia Orchestra Samples
Now this is pretty dope especially for those of you with older samplers. Thousands of free instrument samples all waiting to utilise that key group feature. Everything from cellos to wind chimes. What you waiting for? Check it out link.
4. The Converse Rubber Tracks Sample Library
So for this you do need an indaba music account to access. Once your signed up you can browse and download anything in the collection. The samples here are of really good quality, all recorded by professional musicians using a wide range of different instruments. Whats really cool is you can view videos of the sounds being recorded by each of the musicians. Definitely worth checking out, link.
5. Wavy.audio
How about these from Wavy. Last in our list but by no means least. A collection of over 20 different sample packs designed to inspire your next project. There are some really nice experimental sounds here and really well worth taking a look thru. You can listen to audio examples of each collection to help you make up your mind. In their own words 'No catch. No rules. Just really good royalty free sample packs.' Check it out link.
